Tasmanian Octopus Spotters Required!

Tassie marine-lovers: octopus spotters are required! If you're a diver or maybe a recreational lobster fisher in Tasmania please let us know if you see the Maori octopus (Octopus maorum) anywhere in Tasmanian seas!

We have an Honours student looking at the ability of Maori octopus to pick up chemical cues from its prey, the southern rock lobster.

As luck would have it, they seem to have disappeared from all their regular haunts. We need your help to spot them! Please let us know where you see any by emailing Gretta.Pecl@utas.edu.au.
